Art of Lichtenberg / Fractal Wood Burning
In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they’re still beautiful. –Alice Walker
Nature never fails to mesmerize us with its beautiful creations. Be it the canopy of a big old tree or a mountain range, we find comfort & solace in its grand design. Though it seems random creation, nothing happens randomly in nature. Because, when you have a plan, only then the final outcome excites us. German physicist Georg Christoph Lichtenberg (1742-1799) discovered this art with the help of electricity. Lichtenberg figures are typically tree branch like figures, achieved on wooden surfaces, through passing electricity on a wooden surface ( having lethal amount of voltage, typically 6000 V to 12,000 V). Such figurines are scattered all over natural world, such as lightning thunders, veins in our body and many more. Without proper know-how & resources, attempting to do this can be life threatening.
You should take extreme care while attempting to do. Our Lichtenberg creations on wooden surfaces is an attempt to capture this master engineering of nature at extremely high speed. We literally have absolutely no control on how the end designs will emerge, as it’s entirely a creation of nature. Every piece is unique & remarkable with its own character. Lichtenberg is our take on celebrating the stunning art work of nature around us. Though the process of achieving this art form is lethal in nature, due to the involvement of high voltage, the end results always turns out to be calm & serene in nature. Its poetry on a wooden canvas, with moving electrons.
